Tobey Maguire is scared of spiders.

The 'Spider-Man' star is so petrified of the eight-legged critters he can't bear to be in the same room as one.

A source said: "Toby is scared of spiders. If he finds one in his house he throws a hissy fit."

The 33-year-old actor's phobia has got so out bad his wife Jennifer - with who he has two-year-old daughter Ruby - is begging him to get professional help.

Robert Downey Jr. says Tobey Maguire put lip gloss on before the pair's 'Tropic Thunder' love scene.

The actor - who appears alongside Ben Stiller and Jack Black in the new comedy - had to shoot a trailer with Tobey for spoof movie 'Satan's Alley', which is shown before 'Tropic Thunder', in which the actors star as priests involved in a gay relationship.

When asked how he felt about the trailer, Robert replied: "I think Tobey was wearing lip gloss - it smelt very strong."
