Russell Brand is to release a comedy record.

The British comic star's friend Joby Harte penned 'The Chugga Chugga Song' to use in the opening slot on Russell's last stand-up tour - and it was such a hit that Simon Cowell has jumped on board to back it's release.

A label insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Joby wrote the track to get the crowd on their feet before Russell's shows.

The comedian dashed to help 'GMTV' presenter Michelle Morrison when she fell over in London, sending her shopping flying - only to find out she was filming an undercover report about strangers not helping others in distress.
