Rhys Ifans used to drink shampoo.

The 'Boat That Rocked' star insists he never had any ambitions to be an actor when he was younger because he was too busy indulging in reckless behaviour.

He said: "My parents taught me a love of language, a love of stories and a love of plays but acting was never a childhood dream.

"I never did the shampoo advert thing like Kate Winslet did. I used to drink it instead."

Rhys Ifans thinks marijuana is a "beneficial herb" and should be legalised.

The actor - who is currently filming 'Mr. Nice', a biopic of notorious drug smuggler Howard Marks - can't understand why the narcotic is illegal, insisting it should be allowed under supervised use.

He said: "A lot of people like dope in Wales and Howard is its champion. The reason why he sold is because he thinks, and I agree, that it's a beneficial herb.

Rhys Ifans used his new band to get over his split from Sienna Miller.

The 'Notting Hill' actor - who separated from 'The Edge Of Love' actress in June - admits his role as frontman of Welsh 10-piece group The Peth has been a welcome escape since being dumped.

He said: "It had all kinds of poetic symmetry. I'm not the kind to lie down on a couch. This band came bang on the right time. I thought, 'Right, I'm going back to gang life.' "

Rhys Ifans is staying with Kate Moss while he gets over his split from Sienna Miller.

The model is furious with Sienna after she reportedly dumped her close friend Rhys over the telephone.

The two beauties have never seen eye-to-eye and Kate had previously warned Sienna she would be in trouble if she broke Rhys' heart.
