The 'I Predict A Riot' hitmakers haven't always enjoyed the popularity they have now and had to take drastic measures to improve their fanbase.

Kaiser Chiefs' Leeds loss

Kaiser Chiefs will lose money when they play in Leeds later this month.

The band revealed that despite being advised against performing at Elland Road - the home ground of Leeds United soccer club - they were determined to go ahead.

Bassist Simon Rix said: "We're doing it because we want to."

The rockers also revealed the hometown show will have a soccer theme, in keeping with the setting.
