Joaquin Phoenix apologises to Letterman

Joaquin Phoenix has apologised to TV host David Letterman for his awkward appearance on his show.

The actor was interviewed on the 'Late Show with David Letterman' in 2009 and appeared with a thick unkempt beard, looked confused, mumbled, chewed gum and responded to questions with one word answers, while spending much of the segment staring at his hands, perplexing the host.

Erratic Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix has sparked fears for his health after he was seen behaving erratically at a Miami nightclub.

The 'Walk the Line' star - who recently announced he is quitting acting in order to pursue a music career - was at LIV nightclub earlier this week when he leapt on stage while Jamie Foxx performed and started to "grind" against him.
