Isaac Hayes died of a stroke at his home on Sunday (10.08.08), the star's family doctor has confirmed.

An autopsy has not yet been performed on the legendary soul singer - who was found unresponsive near a running treadmill in his home in Memphis, Tennessee - but Shelby County Medical Examiner David Kraus says it is likely the star died from a stroke.

Isaac Hayes dies

Isaac Hayes has passed away.

The singer-songwriter was found by his wife at his home in Tennessee, US yesterday (10.08.08).

Isaac, 65, was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead an hour later.

The cause of death has not yet been established, although it is believed he suffered a simultaneous heart attack and stroke. Isaac had previously suffered a minor stroke in 2006.
