Dame Helen Mirren felt intimidated on the set of 'RED' because of all the action "legends" in the film.

The Oscar-winning actress - who stars alongside Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Karl Urban in the comic book adaptation about a group of retired CIA agents who return for one last job - was nervous about shooting the movie because she thought the rest of the cast would be "on another level" to her.

The British actress has noticed her roles have changed as she has got older, but she's keen to take on as many exciting parts as she can.

Dame Helen Mirren has admitted her tattoo was a drunken mistake.

The 64-year-old actress claimed she got the small piece of body art on her hand as an act of rebellion when she was younger.

She said: "I was very, very drunk. It was a very, very long time ago, when only sailors and Hell's Angels were tattooed, honestly, and prisoners.

"I decided to get a tattoo because it was the most shocking thing I could think of doing."

Dame Helen Mirren wants brothels to be legalised.

The British actress, who plays the owner of Nevada's first lawful brothel in new movie 'Love Ranch', insists regulating sex establishments will help keep prostitutes safe.

She told British talk show host Jonathan Ross: "It does make sense to me because when it's illegal the girls get so abused. One of the worst things in our society is trafficking, I think it's appalling."

Dame Helen Mirren has never wanted children.

'The Queen' actress confessed that although she does not mind looking after youngsters every once in a while, she is always pleased when they are collected by their mother and father.

She told the Sunday Times Magazine: "I've never been hugely maternal, but I've always loved children as an aunt, a naughty aunt. I'm very happy to be able to give children back to their parents... Not that I've actually ever been alone with them."
