Referring to US writer and poet Dorothy Parker, she explained: "I perpetuate rumours that I've dated people that I've never actually dated. Ginnifer Goodwin is addicted to sending flirty text messages.

The 'He's Just Not That Into You' star, who has previously dated actor Chris Klein, often bombards lovers with coy texts and sexy photographs.

She said: "I think texting is a great means to open up conversation. While I won't cross the line, I'm all about a late-night flirt-texting series. I'll do as many as 20 in a row. But it really has to move on quickly to verbal contact. Pictures are sweet and fun as well."
