Alanis Morissette is expecting a baby boy.

The 36-year-old singer and husband Souleye - whose real name is Mario Treatway - found out the gender of their unborn child during a recent pregnancy scan and can't wait to welcome their son into the world next month.

Though Alanis has only just confirmed she is carrying a boy, it was first speculated that she knew the gender of the baby earlier this month after her baby shower.

Alanis Morissette attacks ex-boyfriend Ryan Reynolds on her new album.

The Canadian singer has revealed various tracks on her upcoming LP 'Flavors of Entanglement' were inspired by her then-disintegrating relationship with the 'Smokin' Aces' actor.

She said: "This album was like a life raft. I wanted my own personal story to unfold as it was happening."

One lyric from track 'Straightjacket' is: "I don't know who you are, talking to me with such f***ing disrespect."
