Eva Mendes' gym hate

Eva Mendes hates going to the gym because they are ugly and noisy.

The 34-year-old actress - the face of the new Calvin Klein underwear campaign - can't stand working out inside, and much prefers to enjoy the outdoors while exercising.

She said: "I work out once a week doing light weights but on the whole I find gyms so grey and so ugly - I don't want to listen to bad techno music on a treadmill.

"I prefer to go running near my house in Los Angeles with my dog or my neighbour, which I do around five times a week. And I go uphill too, which is hard!"

Eva also revealed she never watches what she eats, preferring to compensate for her bad habits by exercising afterwards.

She added to Britain's Glamour magazine: "In the car on the way here I had six chocolate chip cookies! But that means extra time working out later. I'll say to myself, 'I can eat this pizza right now, but I will have to add an extra 30 minutes to my exercise today'. Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it's not."
