Salma Hayek's Rock role

Salma Hayek is set to star on hit US TV show '30 Rock'.

The Mexican actress - who previously appeared in 'Ugly Betty' - will appear in the TV network comedy.

An insider said: "Tina Fey, who writes and appears on the show, was so desperate for Salma to appear in it that she called her herself. Salma has now agreed - she will appear in two episodes as a character, not as herself."

Salma, 42, is not the only celebrity to guest star in the show, which also stars Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski.

Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey can be seen in cameo roles later this year, while Edie Falco and Jerry Seinfeld have previously appeared on the series.
