Cameron Diaz's film sabbatical

Cameron Diaz is to take a year off from making movies.

The 'What Happens in Vegas' actress, who was left devastated by the sudden death of her father Emilio last week, was already planning to take a break from Hollywood before her tragic loss.

She said: "I envision a full year off, just living life and having fun. It's the best thing. I am in love with love and I am in love with life. This year I just sort of decided, you know, there are a lot of things that I've been wanting to do and I'm going to do them."

Cameron revealed she intends to take time out after shooting on new movie 'My Sister's Keeper' wraps.

The 35-year-old star added to W magazine: "I'm just kind of taking more time getting to know myself. It sounds so corny that I can't believe I even just said that, but, you know, there comes a time when you really have to get to know who you are.

"I've just been figuring out what interests me and spending time with people who are important to me and being present in my own life."
