Claire Danes is a "useless nerd".
The 'Me And Orson Welles' star admits she has never been cool, but doesn't think she is clever enough to make a good geek.
She said: "I was a pretty nerdy kid. I'm still kind of nerdy. I have all the worst qualities of being a nerd - all of the affects and none of the smarts. I'm a useless nerd. That's pretty bad."
Claire, 30, took a break from acting in 1998 to study psychology at the prestigious Yale University and says she took time out from Hollywood in order to regain a "normal" life.
She explained: "I started working when I was very young. I got an agent when I was 12 and fortunately was employed consistently from that point on. So I didn't really go to a conventional high school. I was tutored on sets and things."
