Ant and Dec's TV Quick triple takeaway

Ant and Dec were the big winners at last night's (07.09.09) TV Quick Awards, taking home three prizes.

The cheeky Geordie duo picked up 'Best Entertainment Show' for their 'Saturday Night Takeaway'programme, 'Best Talent Show'for 'Britain's Got Talent', which they also front, as well as picking up an 'Outstanding Contribution'award to celebrate their 20 years on TV.

Ant, full name Anthony McPartlin, said: "We're very privileged to work in telly. People get very dramatic, very serious about it, but we make entertainment shows and we want people to have fun when they watch them."

Dec, full name Declan Donnelly, added: "We can't believe we've been doing this for 20 years - it really is the best job in the world. It's been a roller through the last 20 years."

Picking up soap accolades during the evening were 'EastEnders', which won Best Soap, while 'Coronation Street' couple Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) and Katherine Kelly (Becky Granger) took home Best Soap Actor and Best Soap Actress respectively.

Actress Denise Welch also received two awards, Best Actress for her role in 'Waterloo Road'and Best Daytime Show for her role on the panel of 'Loose Women'.

Other programmes receiving accolades included 'Top Gear'for 'Best Lifestyle Show', 'Ashes to Ashes'for Best Drama Series and 'The Inbetweeners'for Best Comedy.
