Diane Kruger's maddening splits

Diane Kruger thought she would "go crazy" after being dumped.

The 'Inglourious Basterds' actress - who is currently dating Joshua Jackson - was so inconsolable after splitting from many of her ex-boyfriends she would lock herself away from the world.

She said: "When I was younger - it might be a romantic idea - I always thought I might go crazy. There were times in my life when I had my heart broken so badly that I wasn't able to leave the house for weeks at a time. Your friends listen to you for a while, and then they're like, 'Stop moaning, get over it.' But sometimes you just can't. I just felt, 'God, what a weight on my shoulders!' "

The 32-year-old former model - who spent three weeks in a mental hospital with real patients while filming 2005s 'Frankie' - only realised how strong a person she was when she took the time to compare her life to other people's.

She said: "When I saw real depression, I finally realised how strong I am. Yes! I'm not crazy!"
