Russell Crowe's movie tingle rule

Russell Crowe lets goose bumps choose his film roles.

The Oscar-winning star has a unique way of deciding which movies to star in - he will only take on a character if the story makes his body tingle.

He said: "I have a rule, which is what I call the goose bumps rule. If I read a script and it gets to me I feel it. I have a physical reaction. And then I have to do the movie. No goose bumps, no movie. It's that simple."

The 44-year-old actor's special technique appears to work.

The New Zealand-born star has racked up an array of awards and nominations for his work on hit movies including 'Gladiator' and 'A Beautiful Mind'.

Russell recently admitted he always knew he would make it in Hollywood because he had the right work ethic.

He said: "I always expect success from myself because I know I'm willing to do the work for it. I have that attitude."
