The 32-year-old actress - who won the Best Actress Academy Award in 2006 for her portrayal of singer June Carter in 'Walk The Line' - loves her accolade as it shows she once achieved critical acclaim.
She said: "I love the fact they can't take it back. It doesn't matter how many stinky movies you do after it they can't take it away from you."
Reese hopes whoever takes home the prize at this year's awards - to be held on Sunday (22.02.09) at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood - treasures the moment as it means they no longer have to worry about their movie choices.
Despite winning the prestigious prize for a film in which she sings, Reese recently revealed her nine-year-old daughter Ava hates it when she bursts into song.
She said: "I love to sing around the house and in the car, but my daughter hates it.
"We went to see Carrie Underwood in concert and Ava said, 'Mom I really appreciate you taking me to the concert, but will you please not embarrass me in front of Carrie Underwood by singing because she's a real singer and you're just, like a movie singer.' "
