Amy Winehouse "doesn't need drugs" because her new boyfriend "makes her feel so amazing."

The 'Back to Black' singer says she's quit drugs for good and gained a new lease of life from holidaying in the Caribbean and meeting new man Josh Bowman.

Amy, who has been at an exclusive resort in St Lucia since New Year, told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "When I'm with Josh I don't need drugs to feel good because he makes me feel so amazing.

"Before I came out here I looked at a photo of myself in the newspaper and was horrified. My skin was a spotty mess and I was so pale and skinny. I thought to myself 'Girl, you got to sort yourself out or you'll be dead soon'.

"I was depressed, doing drugs and had no life at all. Coming here has changed everything. I don't want the holiday to end. Home is hell for me, I've escaped from it."

Amy - who is married to jailed Blake Fielder-Civil - met 21-year-old actor Josh Bowman while on the island and the pair quickly struck up a romance.

The 25-year-old singer added: "Josh couldn't be more different from my husband, which is not a bad thing. Blake looks like me, a right mess, but Josh is handsome and clean and that's what I like about him.

"Blake was rubbish in bed. Almost every time I slept with him it was like I was dead. I don't know what's going on with us now and for the time being I've just forgotten I'm even married."

Blake has reportedly started divorce proceedings against Amy from prison - where he is being held for attempting to pervert the course of justice and Grievous Bodily Harm - hiring celebrity lawyer Henri Brandman and demanding up to £5 million of Amy's fortune.

Speaking of Amy, he is said to have told his mother in a phone call: "We've reached the point of no return."
