Alex James says AC/DC make his children violent.

The Blur bassist revealed his wife Claire has banned him from playing records by the Australian rock group whenever sons Geronimo, four, Artemis and Galileo, both two, and three-month-old daughter Sable are present because of the adverse effect the songs have.

Alex explained: "All of the children are musical, it's amazing. The boys do love the Ramones, although I'm banned from playing AC/DC to them as it makes them violent."

Alex is keen for his children to develop an interest in music and the 40-year-old star likes playing different instruments for them.

He added: "Every morning after porridge, we have a singsong but it has taken them a while to enjoy the ukulele - they used to start crying whenever I played it, but they're getting used to it now."
