Scarlett Johansson needs to feel loved.

The 'Lost in Translation' actress - who recently got engaged to actor Ryan Reynolds - revealed it's important for her lover to shower her with affection.

She said: "What I've learned is that men certainly think differently about women and relationships from the way women approach being with men. There's a need for intimacy on both sides but women need to express that more. Women need to feel loved if they're in a relationship."

Scarlett also confessed she is attracted to passionate men who are interested in the arts.

She said: "I tend to be attracted to men with a lot of creative energy and passion. I need to be with someone who is going to share my excitement over some branch of the arts because that's my life and that's what I'm very passionate about.

"We need to be with other people who can appreciate and understand that process."
