Hugh Jackman's wife disbelief

Hugh Jackman says his wife and eight-year-old son couldn't believe it when he was named Sexiest Man Alive.

The 'X-Men' star - who beat stars including Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon to be given People magazine's annual honour - admits spouse Deborra Lee-Furness found it difficult to understand why he was chosen for the award.

Hugh said: "Previously, my wife had said the sexiest thing about me was that I took the garbage out. Since being named the Sexiest Man Alive, it's like, 'All right, baby. Show it to me. Let's go.' I seem to be asked to take out the garbage more than I did before!"

Hugh - who has two adopted children with Deborra - also said his son Oscar was less tactful with his comments.

He added to E! news: "My son, Oscar, who is eight, goes, 'You? You've got to be kidding me!' And I thought, There's the truth!"
